The short version

BibleDawn is a free Bible site. You can read everything without an account, and we keep data collection to a minimum. We don't sell personal data. Reading progress (plans, devotionals, streaks) is stored on your own device, not on our servers.

What we collect

Nothing you have to give us. There is no sign-up, no account, and no form that requires personal information to use the site.

Usage analytics. We use Google Analytics (via Google Tag Manager) and Ahrefs Web Analytics to understand how the site is used — pages visited, approximate location (country/city level), device and browser type, and referring site. This data is aggregated and does not identify you personally.

On-device data. Your preferences (theme, text size) and reading progress (plan and devotional completion, daily streak) are stored in your browser's localStorage. This data never leaves your device and is deleted if you clear your browser data.

Advertising

BibleDawn may display advertising (such as Google AdSense) to keep the site free. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads based on your visits to this site and/or other sites on the Internet.

  • You may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings.
  • You may opt out of some third-party vendors' use of cookies for personalized advertising at www.aboutads.info.
  • For visitors in the European Economic Area, the UK, and Switzerland, ads are served in accordance with applicable consent requirements.

Your rights and choices

  • Analytics opt-out: you can block analytics with browser settings, extensions, or the Google Analytics opt-out add-on.
  • Local data: clear your browser's site data to remove all on-device preferences and progress.
  • GDPR / CCPA: depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal data. Because we hold no account data about you, most such requests concern our analytics vendors — but contact us and we will help.

Children's privacy

BibleDawn is a general-audience site and does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. No account can be created at any age.

Data retention and security

We retain aggregated analytics per our vendors' standard retention settings. The site is served as static pages over HTTPS; we operate no database of visitor information.
