δίκαιος
díkaios · adjective · “righteous, just”
Dikaios means righteous or just — both God’s perfect rectitude and the right standing he gives believers in Christ. “The righteous shall live by faith.”
Dikaios is the adjective “just” or “righteous.” It describes God — “he is faithful and just (dikaios)” — and people who are in right standing with him, whether by their walk or, supremely, by gift.
The great New Testament use is Habakkuk’s line picked up three times by Paul and Hebrews: “the dikaios shall live by faith.” The righteous person, in the end, is the one who trusts God.
Definition: equitable (in character or act); by implication, innocent, holy (absolutely or relatively)
KJV usage: just, meet, right(-eous)
